If you’re anything like me… you remember when Barbie and Ken broke up. (If you don’t, I’m shaking my head at you!) Earlier this year, Ken launched his campaign to get Barbie back. He tweeted about her, Facebooked about her, and even wrote blogs dedicated to his love of Barbie. Eventually, it worked, and the happy couple was together once again.
So it’s only fitting that just a few months later, Barbie & Ken had their wedding!
I don’t see any post-it notes, so I just have to assume that Barbie was savvy enough to use Social Tables for her seating chart ;)
The wonderful Beatrice de Guiné got to capture the big day.

At Social Tables, we’re always trying to make seating your guests as seamless as possible.
Today, we’re introducing a tagging tool to help you group your guests, thereby classifying them into similar groups. For weddings, a tag my be “bride side,” and for a fundraising gala, it may be “VIP.” The system stores the tags for your event and will even autocomplete them as you start typing. You can perform bulk tag actions from the action toolbar at the bottom of the Guest List page.

To start tagging your guests, head over to the Guest List page. Once you’re ready to seat, switch to the Seating Page and check “Show Tags” to group your guests.

Happy Tagging!

Many of you said that the Quick Tips constantly popping up throughout the different steps of the New Event Wizards were annoying so we added a little logic to our code to make sure you only see them once. Don’t worry, you can load them again at any time.
We also fixed a bug for Chrome users who had trouble renaming tables.
Much more very soon…

Planners can now print their seating chart from the Seat Guests page. Just follow the link above your the seating chart for a printer-friendly page. It’s not as pretty as we’d like but it’ll meet your needs until we roll out version 2 of Social Tables :)
First of all, we hear you loud and clear. We’re working hard on building print functionality so your seating charts could be printed! We’re almost there and will kee you informed.
Next, we’ve taken Social Tables on a feature diet. We removed the RSVP function for guests since most of our users were just using the app’s seating feature. We might bring it back in the future.
And, saving the best for last, we just added multi-planner capability to Social Tables, now you can make any of your event’s guests who have a Social Tables account a planner. This is perfect for brides who want to share their seating chart with their grooms-to-be, parents, etc.

Enjoy!
